In 1919 Illinois lawmakers ratified the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, making the manufacture, sale, and transport of alcohol illegal in the state. In 1920 Chicagoans got creative and opened Speakeasies where they still sold and distributed alcohol secretly. This shirt design commemorates that era with a cheers to the pioneers that kept the spirits alive.
